This Cookie Policy explains how LearnPath uses cookies and similar technologies on our platform at learnwithpath.com. It covers what we store, why we store it, how long it lasts, and how you can control it.

1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device so it can remember things between page loads and visits. This policy also covers similar technologies such as "localStorage" - a small storage area inside your browser that a website can use to keep information (for example, that you are signed in, or the cookie choice you made). Wherever we say "cookies" below, we mean cookies and these similar browser-storage technologies.

2. Cookie and Storage Categories

The lists below are the complete inventory of what LearnPath actually stores. Each entry shows the name or provider, what it is for, and how long it lasts.

Necessary (Always Active)

These are essential for the Service to work - they keep you signed in and remember your privacy choices. They cannot be turned off, because the site cannot function without them.

• Supabase auth session (sb-* cookie and localStorage). Purpose: keeps you signed in as you move between pages. Provider: Supabase. Duration: lasts for your session and is refreshed as needed, up to about one year.
• Cookie consent record (lp_cookie_consent and lp_cookie_consent_at, stored in localStorage). Purpose: remembers the cookie choice you made in the banner so we do not keep asking. Provider: LearnPath. Duration: we keep your choice for about 12 months, after which we may ask you again.
• Country code (lp_geo cookie). Purpose: stores the two-letter country your connection comes from, so we can apply the correct privacy rules for your region. It holds nothing else - no identifier, no location beyond the country. Provider: LearnPath. Duration: about 6 months.

Analytics (Opt-In)

These help us understand which features are used and where people get stuck, so we can improve the product. Analytics is served through a first-party path on our own domain (learnwithpath.com/ingest), which means analytics requests go to LearnPath rather than to an external tracking domain.

• Before you accept: analytics runs in a cookieless, memory-only mode. No analytics cookies or device storage are set, and any measurement is cleared when you close the tab.
• PostHog (ph_*, stored in localStorage and a cookie). Purpose: measures product usage so we can improve LearnPath. Provider: PostHog. Set only after you choose "Accept" in the cookie banner. Duration: up to one year.
• Sentry (error monitoring). Purpose: helps us diagnose crashes and bugs. Sentry sets no tracking cookies on your device.

Session Replay

We use PostHog Session Replay to record how pages are used - clicks, scrolling, navigation and what the screen shows, including its text - so we can see where people get stuck and fix it. Recordings do not capture what you type into fields, passwords, or payment details (card details are entered on Airwallex's own page, which is never recorded).

• If you are in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland: nothing is recorded unless you allow analytics in the cookie banner. The same applies if we cannot tell which country you are in.
• Everywhere else: recording runs by default, on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the Service, and stops the moment you turn analytics off. You can do that at any time from the cookie banner or from Cookie settings in the footer of our home page or under Settings, Privacy. Recordings made this way are stored without setting cookies or other storage on your device.
• Recordings are kept by PostHog for up to 30 days and are visible only to the LearnPath team.
• Error recordings (Sentry): when something breaks, Sentry keeps a short recording of the moments before the error so we can fix it. Text and images on the screen are hidden in these recordings. Sentry keeps only a short-lived marker in your browser's session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab. These recordings run in every region because they exist only to fix errors.

Marketing

LearnPath does not currently set any marketing or advertising cookies. The cookie banner includes a marketing toggle that is reserved for possible future use. If we ever introduce marketing cookies, they will only be set after you give consent, and we will update this policy first.

Third-Party

When a learning path includes a YouTube video, the video is shown through an embedded YouTube player. If you interact with that player, Google may set its own cookies on your device.

• Embedded YouTube player. Purpose: video playback. Provider: Google / YouTube. These cookies are controlled by Google and are subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

3. Managing Your Preferences

You can review or change your choices at any time:

• Use the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of our home page or under Settings, Privacy to reopen the banner and change your analytics choice.
• Closing the banner with its X saves no choice (we only remember that you closed it, in lp_cookie_banner_closed in localStorage, so it does not keep reappearing), so the default for your region applies - in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland nothing optional runs until you accept - and you can choose at any time from "Cookie Settings" in the footer of our home page or under Settings, Privacy.
• Adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies and other site storage.

If you decline analytics, we fall back to the anonymous, cookieless measurement described above - no analytics cookies or identifiers are stored. Note that blocking necessary cookies may prevent the Service from working properly, for example by signing you out.

4. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as our features and tools change. If we make a material change - such as introducing a new category of cookies - we will update the date above and, where appropriate, ask for your choice again through the cookie banner.
